First shown in 1938, Little Petra gained instant acclaim at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers Guild Exhibition, later winning awards at exhibitions in New York and Berlin. It is one of the few projects by architect Viggo Boesen who associated himself with the design aesthetic of Denmark in the 1930s, called the funky style. Little Petra is surprisingly small, able to fit into all kinds of spaces, interiors and environments. Flush to the floor, open and enveloping, it embodies the essence of an armchair, allowing for all types of seating positions in any cozy environment imaginable.
