In 1950, Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel created an unusual bowl-shaped bench, essentially creating a basket hanging from a light oak frame. Achieving a chair design that blended the seat and back in a cup shape and consistent with a shell, the Basket chair stands out for being organic in its organic form and materials.
